Digital technologies have significantly influenced economic rules and the way businesses operate. For example, digital platforms such as Amazon, Airbnb, or Uber have become the dominant players. Furthermore Internet of Things (IoT) and industrial internet transform physical goods into information based services to only name a few. Through all this change the world is more volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA world) and requires new skills. Organizations are becoming more customer-centric, agile, and networked.
In this module students examine the pace of digital change and the imperative it creates for their businesses, also considering disruptive competitors from outside the industry. They learn what it takes to win in the digital age and how to identify key areas to digitize including strategy, core processes, and technology and to prepare their organizations as responsible leaders for this change.
