WU Executive Academy's MBAs re-accredited by AMBA

August 20, 2019

Rare hallmark for excellence in executive education

Initially accredited by AMBA (Association of MBAs) in 2010 as the first and only Austrian provider of MBA programs, the WU Executive Academy has now been re‑accredited for another five years. It thus continues to be the only Austrian business school - and one of just seven in the German-speaking world - to hold this prestigious distinction.

Hallmark of excellence for top-performing universities

AMBA is one of the most important accreditation agencies in the world besides EQUIS, AACSB and FIBAA. It awards its quality seal to those MBA and DBA programs that meet the stringent AMBA quality requirements. So far, AMBA has accredited more than 260 business schools in over 75 countries.

We are all absolutely delighted that the WU Executive Academy has been re-accredited by AMBA. A byword for exceptional teaching and research standards, this hallmark of excellence is not only visible proof that we are leading the way in Austria when it comes to internationally recognized accreditations but also a testament to the high quality of our MBA programs. During their visit in March of this year, the AMBA peer visit team could see for themselves that the WU Executive Academy meets AMBA’s stringent quality requirements across the board. In particular, AMBA highlighted the diversity among the participants, the loyalty and enthusiasm of our alumni, the initiatives to increase female participation and our innovative Lab formats, allowing to integrate contemporary topics into our programs.

Recent years have seen a rapid rise in the number of MBA programs. Hence, the international market has become crowded, making it increasingly difficult for prospective students to separate the wheat from the chaff. That being the case, world-renowned accreditations give universities a crucial competitive edge in that they provide valuable guidance.

Because international accreditations boost a university’s prestige, our students and alumni will have better career prospects. Furthermore, it will be easier for us to establish the WU Executive Academy as a leading provider of MBA programs in Europe on a long-term basis.
