Grow Together4 Months – At Least 4 Interactions – 4 Milestones

Support And Sharing One On One

Our 4-month long Mentoring4U program connects high potential students of our MBA, LL.M. and MSc(CE) programs with experienced professionals from our Executive Club community. These connections facilitate knowledge sharing and career guidance in a personal setting and help both parties to learn and develop on more than just a professional level.

Why Mentoring? I Have a Good Network!

While there is some overlap between networking and mentoring, the nature of the relationship is different: mentoring builds on a more personal and closer relationship. Those who agree to act as mentors make certain commitments - clarified in advance. The relationship is more formal, and meetings take place more frequently. While networking usually focuses on expanding contacts, the mentoring program also focuses on the exchange of professionally targeted content & topics.

It’s a Two-Way Street

Mentoring should always be beneficial and reciprocal. Personal development often stems from social interaction. Our mentors and mentees are ready to learn and ready to give back.

Four month is not a long time. Mentors and mentees adapt the program to their personal needs and resources. We encourage a basic structure to out Mentoring4U program which is the base for the activities and topics each mentoring couple chooses to focus on:

  • Month 1: Set out goals

  • Month 2: Reevaluate goals

  • Month 3: Getting closer

  • Month 4: Reflect on the outcome

Hitting Milestones Together

Ksenia Pritchina, MBA Project Management student and of our mentees, emphasized: ‘Join this program, enjoy it but for sure have a structure. Dream on but have a structure and make some steps what you have to do, what you are going to achieve.’

To provide some guidance throughout each Mentoring4U program we have formulated 4 milestones that guide our mentoring pairs along their journey together.

  • Milestone 1: Visibility – Introduce yourself and your expertise

  • Milestone 2: First Get Together

  • Milestone 3: Joint activity

  • Milestone 4: Wrap-up and feedback

Calls for our Mentoring4U program are regularly shared with out Executive Club Community. If you have any questions, please contact wuexecutiveclub@wu.ac.at.
