Global Executive MBA: #13 in the QS Executive MBA Ranking 2023

In the QS Executive MBA Ranking 2023, the WU Executive Academy's flagship program ranks 13th in the “Joint Programs” category. This places it among the global elite for the fifth time in a row. Particularly strong: career development, international diversity and academic reputation.

Top 15 worldwide again

In yet another year-on-year improvement, WU’s Global Executive MBA was ranked 13th in this year’s QS Executive MBA Ranking. This marks the fifth year in a row that the WU Executive Academy’s flagship program has been ranked among the leading 15 MBA programs worldwide in the “Joint Programs” category.

The excellence of the MBA program is once again confirmed with the great ranking placement.

For many years, the QS Executive MBA Ranking, which is traditionally compiled once a year by the globally leading career and further education network Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), has been considered one of the most important MBA rankings in the world. Every year, more business schools are competing: this year, as many as 227 executive MBA programs offered in 49 countries took part.

#13 Worldwide in “Joint Programs”

In addition to rankings for individual geographical regions (North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia Pacific), there are also two rankings on a global level: the “Global” ranking and the “Joint Programs” ranking, which assesses MBA programs offered jointly by at least two different business schools.

“We are looking at the crème de la crème of executive MBA programs – at least as far as participants are concerned,” Barbara Stöttinger, Dean of the WU Executive Academy, emphasizes. And Stephen T. Parente, Associate Dean of the Carlson School of Management, adds: “QS has good reasons not to compare joint programs with stand-alone programs because they are simply different: they are more international, particularly with regard to study content, faculty, and potential study visits.

World Leader in Academic Reputation, Career, and Diversity

The QS Executive MBA Ranking assesses programs based on the five main categories of “Employer Reputation,” “Thought Leadership,” “Career Outcomes,” “Executive Profiles,” and “Diversity,” which are further divided into nine subcategories. Stöttinger points out that the Global Executive MBA fared particularly well in the categories most important to students: “When it comes to career development (‘Graduates Promoted’), ‘Nationalities,’ which reflects the number of different nationalities in a cohort, and ‘Academic Reputation,’ the Global Executive MBA received top grades.”
