The Diplom BetriebswirtIn program of the WU Executive Academy was recently awarded the international FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation) quality seal. The accreditation testifies to the outstanding quality level of the program, which is comparable to a bachelor program of one of the leading universities and universities of applied sciences in Germany and Austria.
In its accreditation report, FIBAA highlighted the program's academic quality and practical relevance, the industry experience of its lecturers and the comprehensive and diverse set of teaching technologies.
“This program, which has a workload of 180 ECTS like a bachelor's degree, is definitely unparalleled in Austria. Providing an alternative to the traditional way of studying for a degree at a university or a university of applied sciences, the concise Diplom BetriebswirtIn (BBA) connects to the professional backgrounds of students, allowing them to undergo high-quality training without interrupting their professional careers. In the course of the program, participants not only acquire industry-specific expert knowledge but also develop a thorough understanding of general management as well as marketing and sales.”
As part of the accreditation, FIBAA has also certified the Marketing & Sales certificate program, which is an integral component of the Diplom BetriebswirtIn (BBA)'s foundation phase.
FIBAA is one of the preeminent international accreditation agencies besides AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS—and has established itself, especially in the German-speaking world, as a leader when it comes to accrediting university programs. It awards its quality seal to universities and study programs that meet its stringent quality standards. FIBAA accreditation marks the successful completion of a comprehensive evaluation process that closely examines, among other things, the program provider, the quality and practical relevance of the program content as well as the qualification profiles of lecturers and students.
“It is exactly these criteria that have been highlighted in particular in the final report because we even exceed FIBAA's stringent quality standards when it comes to the special emphasis we put on integrating theory and practice, the wealth of relevant professional experience that our lecturers bring to the table and the state-of-the-art media and IT equipment in our teaching rooms. For us, this is a wonderful recognition of our commitment to quality; for our students, it means they can be sure to have chosen one of the best programs in the German-speaking world,” say Prof. Barbara Stöttinger, Dean of the WU Executive Academy, and Dr. Astrid Kleinhanns-Rollé, Managing Director of the WU Executive Academy.
The six-term Diplom BetriebswirtIn (BBA) program is ideal for professionals who want to study for a highly practical degree while pursuing their (full-time) careers. In the course of the program's foundation phase, participants connect to their specific industry backgrounds (marketing and sales, tourism and event management, risk and insurance management, logistics and supply chain management). During the main phase, they develop their understanding of customer-oriented strategic business management, focusing in particular on general management, marketing and sales management as well as integrated marketing and corporate communications.
Graduates of certificate programs receive academic credit for their certificates, meaning they can complete the Diplom Betriebswirt (BBA) in less time.
