In keeping with tradition, the ball of the Vienna University of Economics and Business, which took place on the 2nd weekend of the new year, marked the beginning of the Viennese ball season for the 25th time. Prof. Edeltraud Hanappi-Egger, Rector of WU, welcomed more than 3200 guests to Vienna's splendid Hofburg Palace.
This time, the doors of the WU Alumni Lounge opened at 10 pm, for the first time located at the “Wintergarten”, allowing a magnificent view of the nocturnal Heldenplatz. Traditionally, the Lounge is organized every year by the WU Executive Academy in cooperation with WU Alumni for members and partners.
Thanks to the picturesque ambience, the atmosphere was excellent, not only among our alumni:
"A great idea of the WU Executive Academy to meet for networking in the elegant setting of the WU Ball at the Hofburg. For me, this is a great to meet friends and make new contacts in a wonderful ambience," says Global Executive MBA Alumna Gabriele Lang, Managing Director of UP'N'CHANGE GmbH.
Also our career partners had a great time at this year’s WU ball: “For me as a WU alumna and a headhunter for executives, the WU ball is an outstanding event to meet and network with friends, partners and talents from all over the world. The traditional location paired with the modern atmosphere are unique and impressive. It is impressive to see how the WU Ball nicely represents the values of Mercuri Urval - global reach and talents without limits”, says Doris Hofmeister, Director International Business at Mercury Urval Austria.
The guests certainly enjoyed the ball to the full, dancing the night away to DJ Company’s hot beats.
